Transportation
Whether you're travelling by plane, foot, bus, or SkyTrain - Vancouver is a breeze to get around. Navigating to, from and around the city is made simple with TransLink - Vancouver's easy-to-use public transit system.
If you're arriving by air, you'll most likely be flying into Vancouver International Airport. From there, you have a variety of transport options linking you to downtown.
Airport Information
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located in Richmond, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver via car or the Canada Line (part of the SkyTrain rapid transit system), and is the gateway to flights from around the world. The Abbotsford International Airport, approximately an hour east of Vancouver, is a convenient hub for the region's air service from across Canada.
Taxis
More than 500 licensed taxis currently serve the airport, including wheelchair accessible taxis.
Taxis are a quick and easy way to get to and from Vancouver International Airport. Our taxis are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Taxis charge a metered rate based on time and distance. The approximate fare to downtown Vancouver is between $28 - $32 (taxes included). No reservations are required for mini-vans or wheelchair accessible taxis. Let our curbside staff know your needs and we’ll get the right vehicle.
Shuttle
An alternative to access downtown Vancouver hotels is on the Downtown Shuttle service provided by Aeroshuttle.
Aeroshuttle provides exclusive shuttle service at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to downtown hotels for as little as $14.00 per adult (one way) or $24.64 per adult (round trip). Rates include HST calculated at 12%. Driver gratuity is discretionary.
